Testing Requirements

You are required to test your child at the end of grades 3, 5, 8 and 10. If your child is enrolled in extra curricular activities with the public school, your child will need to be tested annually and to submit test scores to the MESD Home School Notification office.

In order to meet the testing requirements all tests must contain a Total Battery Score/National Percentile rank. The grade level and date/season test was taken also needs to be included. We are unable to accept a test without all this information.

Multnomah ESD encourages you to test your child annually. By testing your child on a yearly basis you will be able to:

  • Make better curriculum choices.

  • Identify academic strengths and weaknesses.

  • Show the progress your children are making.

  • Multnomah ESD will maintain all test scores as part of the student's Home School permanent record if desired.

There is a current list of qualified testers on this web page or you may find a list at the
Oregon Department of Education Home School information page at www.ode.state.or.us Or you
may call the Oregon Department of Education at 1-503-368-3600 office of curriculum.
