SB 300 (Expanded Options Program)
The 2005 Session of the Oregon Legislative Assembly passed Senate Bill 300, also known as Expanded Options, which creates access for high school students to accelerated college credit opportunities. It also emphasizes specific provisions and priorities for at-risk students. The 2006-07 implementation of this student opportunity has generated much interest.
Purpose: The purpose of SB 300 is to create a seamless educational system for students enrolled in grades 11 and 12 to
a) have additional options to continue or complete their education, b) earn concurrent high school and college credits, and
c) gain early entry into post-secondary education.
